First visit the National Park of las Canadas del Teide. Spain's highest peak, and the third largest volcano in the world. Stop for coffee and then travel down through the Orotova valley to Puerto de la Cruz. There, you have time for shopping and sightseeing and perhaps a walk along the seafront promenade.
On the way back, you stop at Candelaria, a charming fishing village, where you can visit the 'Black Virgin Madonna' statue, patron of the Canary Islands.
